WORKING NOTE: previous patched release by other group crashes after longer usage.
When creating Toraverb, we did not base it on any current reverb unit available in the market. We did not implement any ôoff-the-shelfö algorithm. Toraverb is not a classic type reverb unit like spring, room, hall or plate. Toraverb is a concept algorithm reverb. Using a set of easily accessible parameters, it allows the user to create practically ANY type of reverb.
Our goal was to create a reverb which would sound pleasant to the listener and the output could be tweaked in many different ways by the user.
Critical effect in any studio
Reverb is a critical effect in a mix. Final results depend on the reverb algorithm used and the quality of the implementation. Usually reverb is used as a send effect in which many channels in a mix are routed to it. If a low quality plug-in or hardware unit is used, the end results can sound very disappointing with the reverb tail sounding like it had been ôripped-offö in the mix.
High quality of diffusion
In Toraverb, we applied diffusing algorithms of the highest possible quality based on modified all-pass filters. By doing this and using properly tuned parameters, we can almost entirely eliminate unwanted flutter echo effects for every sound source.
Separate equalisation for early and late reflections
Toraverb is equipped with two independent, single band, fully parametric equalisers. One is used to EQ early reflections and the other to EQ late reflections. This is an incredibly useful feature which allows a lot of control over the character of the reverb to give the most natural sound.
Modulated tail
Toraverb also has an additional modulation parameter which affects the diffusing filters. These are responsible for the distribution of the sound waves reflections in time. By changing the modulation, the sound of the reverb tail can be altered to give a more realistic effect of sound propagation.
Spatial reflections
To give a better impression of physical space, we have added an innovative spatial reflection algorithm to Toraverb. It improves spatial reflections by allowing cross-talking of reflected stereo waves between stereo channels. This models what happens in the real world when a sound audible only in the left ear is reflected and is heard in both ears.
Conslusion
Toraverb is a very versatile reverb unit. The high sound quality, flexible sound shaping capabilities and ease of use will be appreciated by every producer and sound engineer. Try it out! We know you will love it!

ALTERED STATES is one of the most powerfully creative sample-based virtual instruments ever created, a claim which can be justified, even in the face of competition like Spectrasonics' very fine 'Atmosphere'. How? ALTERED STATES has an extremely large and incredibly diverse library of sounds; it has the best software interface, created by NATIVE INSTRUMENTS, the leaders in software synthesis; it's engine is based on the KONTAKT audio engine (the same as in the world's finest and most highly-acclaimed sampler); and all the sounds can also be loaded into NI KONTAKT if desired (see below), meaning it is NOT a closed system. Also, the loops, the LFOs, the FX, everything can be automatically synced to the tempo of your song (making other techniques like Groove Control look cumbersome!), and you have total recall of everything you do, in your sequencer.
The whole of the ALTERED STATES library is presented within a stunning new state-of-the-art plug-in interface by NATIVE INSTRUMENTS which is specifically optimized for, among other things, rhythmic loop playback, manipulation, and creative mayhem. The convenient one-screen interface (a version of NI INTAKT) provides tremendous sound shaping abilities without disrupting the creative flow, including a first-class multimode filter, an envelope follower, two LFOs, effects, and much more. All of the loops in the library have been set up so that they can be automatically synced to tempo, either via the Beat Machine or the Time Machine. The Beat Machine has loops divided into their individual hits (slices) which means they can be played at a wide range of tempos without change in pitch. It also allows the user to give each hit individual settings for pitch, playback direction, pitch envelope, amp envelope, distortion, delay, and more; a MIDI file of each loop can be easily exported so that groove, accent, and feel can be manipulated in any host sequencer. The Time Machine time-stretches or compresses loops in real time.

Not only can you sync, stretch, and pitch the loops, but also filter, effect and modulate them as well! A powerful sound-shaping filter, flexible envelopes, syncable LFOs, and distortion, syncable delay, and lo-fi effects can inject even more energy and individuality into the loops, as well as into the synths, pads, textures and everything else in this absolutely vast and inspiring sound library. Since the software interface is a version of NI's superb INTAKT engine, working with it is fast, easy, and sounds great!
